Coping with Cancer is a free support group are offered for cancer patients and survivors and their family members and caregivers regardless of where the patient is receiving treatment. A licensed marriage and family therapist, from the Loma Linda Behavioral Medicine Department, facilitates the group.
Joint Replacement Classes are designed to prepare patients for their surgery and help them understand their role as an active participant in their recovery and rehabilitation. Register for our next class by calling 951-290-4182 and speak with Sheri Pentz our Ortho & Spine patient Navigator.
A free support group ALS or “Lou Gherig’s Disease” begins on January 18 and will meet on the third Monday of each month. The ALS Association Golden West Chapter facilitates the group.
Friend and Family CPR teaches hands-only CPR to students, new parents, grandparents, babysitters and others interested in learning how to save a life. There is a $20.00 fee Monthly classes are taught by an American Heart Association Certified Trainer.
Vibrant Living is a free 5-week education class for those who have been diagnosed with Diabetes and a support person. The course will cover diabetic management through healthy eating, meal planning, and blood glucose monitoring. The next class begins in February.
Childbirth and Parenting Education Classes include both a 5-week and 1-day Lamaze classes, Breastfeeding Classes and a Newborn Necessities, designed to prepare new parents for the arrival of their newborn and a refresher course for experienced parents. Additional support for breastfeeding is available through private appointments with a trained lactation nurse at the Mother Baby Connection, the only hospital based breastfeeding clinic in Southwest Riverside County.
Maternity Tours can be scheduled by calling (951) 290-4070. Expectant parents will tour the Family Birthing Center and learn about “The Sacred Hour,” Skin-to-skin Bonding” and a new clear-drape option that allows moms delivering by cesarean section the ability to view their baby’s birth.
